After hours
Night and early morning cabs
The line is answered at any hour and the figure does not move for it: the per kilometre rate at half past three in the morning is the one printed on the rate card. The driver's name and his number reach you the evening before, so the car at your gate belongs to somebody you can already name.
- From
- ₹11.00a kilometre in a hatchback, before toll and GST. Every class and every charge is on the rate card.

The night, in two figures
Neither moves because of the hour. Nine at night is when the car and the driver are settled, and the line is answered whether the pick-up is at half past three in the afternoon or half past three in the morning.

What the hour changes
Four things a customer expects to move after eleven at night, and what each of them actually does on this tariff.
- The per kilometre rate
- Unchanged
- The figure for your class is the one printed on the rate card, at every hour of the day and of the night. Nothing multiplies it and nothing is added to it for darkness.
- The driver allowance
- Unchanged
- The same figure per calendar day whatever hour the duty begins, because it pays for the driver’s day rather than for the clock on it.
- Toll and parking
- At actuals
- Passed through at what the plaza actually took, with the statement, exactly as on a trip at noon. They are named lines on the quotation before you confirm.
- When the duty reaches the driver
- The evening before
- A three in the morning pick-up is on a named driver's sheet before he goes to sleep, and you have his name and his number at the same time he has your address.
- How long a driver may be on duty
- Not published
- A statute sets a ceiling for a motor transport worker, and a statute is not a policy. This office has not written its own rule for a night duty, so there is nothing honest to put in this row yet. When it writes one, it goes here.
What we put on a night duty
Four classes, and the two small ones lead because a night run is usually one or two people going one way. Nothing larger sits on this list: moving a shift of workers through the night is a roster and not a cab.

What the fare covers
In the quoted fare
- Fuel and running cost
- Whatever the trip burns.
- The chauffeur
- His driving charges for the duty.
- Maintenance, insurance and air conditioning
- The vehicle is insured and serviced, and the AC runs.
- A duty allotted the evening before
- A three in the morning pick-up is on the driver's sheet before he goes to sleep, not handed at midnight to whoever is still awake. You get his name and number at the same time he gets your address.
- The same rate as the afternoon
- The per kilometre figure for your class does not move for the hour, and nothing is added for darkness. A four o’clock pick-up is quoted off the same line of the rate card as a four o’clock one in the afternoon.
Charged on top
- Toll
- At actuals, and the FASTag statement is shared with the bill.
- Parking
- At actuals, with the receipt.
- State entry tax
- Where the trip crosses a state border. At actuals, and named on the quotation before you confirm.
- Waiting beyond the free period
- Charged by the hour once the free waiting is used up.
- GST5%
- Shown as its own line on the quotation and on the invoice.
Kilometres are counted from your address to the drop, on the odometer, and that is the same arithmetic at three in the morning as at three in the afternoon. The hour changes nothing in it. No line on the quotation exists because of the clock, so a figure agreed on Tuesday afternoon is what a four o’clock pick-up costs on Wednesday morning. Where the distance comes to less than the 250 kilometre minimum the fare is worked from the minimum instead, at either hour, and the quotation names which of the two it used before you confirm.
The figure on your quotation is the figure you pay. Everything payable at actuals is a named line on it, with a number against it, before you confirm. Nothing is added afterwards.
What gets asked at one in the morning
Do you actually run at three in the morning?
Yes, and the phone is answered at that hour by a person. What is slower at night is the paperwork: a written quote comes back the same day between nine in the morning and nine at night, and an enquiry sent after that is answered by half past nine the next morning. If the car is needed tonight, ring instead of filling the form.
Does a trip cost more because it runs at night?
No. The per kilometre figure for your class is the one printed on the rate card and it is the same at half past three in the morning as at half past three in the afternoon. The driver allowance is the same figure a day. Toll and parking are passed through at what they actually cost, exactly as on a trip at noon.
I am a woman travelling alone at one in the morning. What do you actually do?
You get the driver's name and his number the evening before, so you can send both to somebody at home before you leave rather than identifying a stranger from a number plate in the dark. His licence, his police verification and his badge are on file before he is given the duty. The office line is answered at that hour by a person, and if anything about the car or the driver is not what you were told, ring it and we will deal with it while you are still standing there.
Can I ask for a woman driver?
Ask, and the office will tell you straight whether one is free on your date. Very few women drive commercially in this trade and on most nights the honest answer is no, which is better said at the enquiry than found out at the gate.
Who will be driving, and when do I find out?
The evening before, on WhatsApp: the vehicle, the driver’s name and his number. That is the same promise as every other trip on this site and it counts for more here, because at four in the morning you are identifying a car in the dark and the alternative is reading a number plate off a stranger.
My daughter flies at six. Can I book it and not travel myself?
Yes. Put both numbers in the enquiry and the driver's name and number go to both of you the evening before, so it is on her phone and on yours. Tell us which of you he should ring when he reaches the gate, because at half past three that decides whether the whole house wakes up.
Toll, parking and any waiting beyond the free period are payable at actuals and are named on the quotation before you confirm. Nothing on that quotation is worked out from the hour of the pick-up, so the figure you agree does not move because the trip runs through the night.
Sending an enquiry is not a booking and does not hold a vehicle. We price the trip, send you a fixed all-inclusive figure in writing, and nothing is reserved until you confirm that figure.
Tell us the hour. Any of them.
A fixed all-in figure in writing, off the same rate card at four in the morning as at four in the afternoon.
Written quotes 9 am to 9 pm, seven days. The line itself is answered at any hour.
